What's New Along Bee Cave Road in West Lake Hills This Fall?

October 8, 2026

Southbound on Loop 360 near the Westlake Drive bridge, the left lane now keeps going. Since Aug. 30, TxDOT has opened one new mainlane in each direction at Westlake Drive and Cedar Street. Drivers who stay left pass both signals without stopping, and drivers headed to Westlake Drive or Cedar Street exit to the right. Getting back onto Loop 360 in either direction now means using the non-signalized U-turns on the Westlake Drive bridge.

That lane switch is one piece of a larger reset. Between June and December, the stretch of West Lake Hills between Loop 360 and the 4200 block of Bee Cave Road gets new lanes, a new taqueria, a florist, a men's health clinic, a pet hospital with urgent care, a wine café, a renovated pizza shop and a teriyaki counter. None of it arrives at the same moment. A routine built this October will need adjusting in November and again in December.

The road changed first

Loop 360 construction isn't finished. TxDOT says mainlane work between Bold Ruler Way and the Pennybacker Bridge continues through late 2026. Excavation runs weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and hauling happens overnight. The completion target has already moved once. In February 2026, Community Impact reported a mid-2026 estimate for the Westlake Drive/Cedar Street project, and TxDOT's current project page now says late 2026.

Farther north, the next phase is already underway. Construction started in April 2026 at Loop 360 and Courtyard Drive/RM 2222. The signal there will be replaced by an underpass, and RM 2222 will become a diverging-diamond interchange, with completion expected in late 2029. Once the Westlake Drive section wraps up, the 360 work moves north rather than stopping.

That matters for the rest of this list. The new businesses below sit on the two roads where those lane changes meet. The 360 changes alter how you get to the storefronts on Bee Cave Road and at Village at Westlake.

Bee Cave Road picked up three new storefronts

Three of this year's openings sit within about a thousand street numbers of each other on Bee Cave Road, close to West Lake Hills City Hall at 4010 Bee Cave Road.

Taquería de Diez, 3736 Bee Cave Road, Ste. 2. The downtown taqueria opened its third location in West Lake Hills in spring 2026. The menu has tacos, burritos and quesadillas, plus chips and guacamole. The taqueria is tied to brothers Raul and Luis Esquer and chef Roy Servan. Its first location opened downtown in 2024.

French Florist, 3801 Bee Cave Road, Ste. 140. Opened June 17. It offers full arrangements, shopping by occasion and same-day delivery.

Maverick Men's Health, 4238 Bee Cave Road. Opened June 8 as a men's health clinic. Its services include weight management and hair restoration.

All three are already open. The next wave on this same road isn't, and that's where the staging becomes obvious.

Village at Westlake added a dinner option and an urgent care

Back on Loop 360, the 701 S. Capital of Texas Hwy. address added two businesses this summer that cover very different needs.

West Austin Pet Hospital opened June 27 in Ste. N-480. It offers routine, urgent and emergency care for pets. For pet owners in West Lake Hills, that puts urgent care at a shopping center just off Loop 360.

Postino opened Sept. 13 in Ste. J760 at Village at Westlake. The wine café serves paninis, salads, bruschetta and charcuterie boards, along with a long wine list, craft cocktails, beer and non-alcoholic options. It's Postino's third Austin café, after Bryker Woods and South Central Austin.

Postino opened two weeks after the new 360 mainlanes at Westlake Drive. Anyone driving from Bee Cave Road to Village at Westlake is learning both changes at once.

Two openings are still on the way

Baldinucci Pizza Romana, 3300 Bee Cave Road, Ste. 110. The flagship closed temporarily on Aug. 10 for a renovation. It's slated to reopen in November, and the dining room is growing from 12 seats to 54. Until then, the brand's newer Domain Northside location, which opened Aug. 17, is the place to get Baldinucci. Going from 12 seats to 54 more than quadruples the room, so the West Lake Hills shop that reopens will be built for sit-down dinners in a way the old one wasn't.

Teriyaki Madness, 3231 Bee Cave Road. As of Sept. 4, a company representative said the location was in the permitting phase, with a tentative opening in early December. The fast-casual menu has chicken teriyaki, orange chicken, steak, salmon, spicy tofu, chicken katsu and yakisoba-style bowls.

Both dates are targets, not confirmed openings. As of early October, no later public update had changed either one.

The calendar date that matters most is at City Hall

The most important local date this month isn't a restaurant opening. Austin Water is holding a neighbor meeting on Monday, Oct. 19, at 5:30 p.m. at West Lake Hills City Hall, 4010 Bee Cave Road. Earlier notices listed Sept. 21 at 6 p.m., so the October date and time are the current ones. Austin Water says the meeting will cover current projects at the Ullrich Water Treatment Plant and ongoing sound-mitigation strategies.

Ullrich is the largest of Austin Water's three treatment plants. It's rated at 167 million gallons per day and draws raw water from Lake Austin. According to the utility's project page, the current upgrades are process improvements inside the plant's existing footprint, with no increase in rated treatment capacity. The work includes process-drain and support improvements, a chemical-system conversion, building renewal, and lime-feed and polymer-feed work.

A separate project replaces the 1969 electrical substation that serves the plant's Low Service Pump Station. The new facility is enclosed and comes with a new electrical feed and duct bank, an access road and stormwater-quality work. Construction is underway, with completion expected in 2026. That's the same year-end window as the Loop 360 lanes and the Teriyaki Madness target. For neighbors with questions about sound, Oct. 19 is the meeting set aside for them.

Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave also has three events across the second half of October. Oktoberfest is Saturday, Oct. 17, from 3 to 7 p.m., with food from The League Kitchen + Tavern. Contracommon's free Common Ground Arts Festival fills the central plaza on Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free Rolling Sculpture Car Show runs Sunday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and proceeds benefit Bee Cave Public Library.

By the second week of December, if the targets hold, everything in the table will be open or finished, and Bee Cave Road and Loop 360 will have settled into a new routine. Until then, the Baldinucci reopening in November is the next date to watch.
